WINDOW ENERGY RATINGS

By choosing High Performance windows homeowners can benefit from real savings on their fuel bills and reduce the impact on the World’s natural resources.

Window Energy Ratings

BFRC is the premier UK authority for independently verified ratings of energy efficient windows and energy efficient doors. BFRC rated energy efficient windows and energy efficient doors carry a ‘rainbow’ label similar to those found on fridges, freezers, washing machines.

The BFRC label clearly indicates the rating of the designated window or door (A+ to G) depending on the energy efficiency levels achieved by the manufacturer. A+ is the most energy efficient, G the least efficient.

Merlin Network offers a comprehensive range of Energy Rated products as standard with a full suite of A and ‘A+ rated windows available.

Make cost savings and be Energy Efficient

Did you know that our homes account for a quarter of all CO2 emissions in the UK and windows can account for up to 30% of the total heat lost from a house? ‘A’ Rated windows can have a zero energy loss over a year cycle or even add energy back into the room via solar gain.

Much of the home’s heat loss is through the windows, so with high fuel costs it makes sense to fit the most energy efficient double glazing you can afford.

High Performance Windows

By choosing High Performance windows homeowners can benefit from real savings on their fuel bills and reduce the impact on the World’s natural resources.

  1. Highly Insulated PVCu frames provide a barrier to cut heat loss.
  2. Heat from radiators is reflected back into the room, keeping more warmth inside the home
  3. Even during winter, energy from the sun passes through the specialized glazing and has a warming effect on the room.

The thermal image of the house opposite shows the green areas (top left) where old windows have been replaced with modern energy efficient ones, in contrast to the old existing windows shown in magenta, which let considerable heat out of the home
